Ramzi was born in London, England and is of Arab & North African heritage.

Growing up in a house full of Palestinian, Syrian and Libyan culture, I like telling stories. As I grew older and explored the roots of my heritage, I also connected to the gypsy performer traditions of the Levant, to the folk art and tales of my community and my ancestor’s ways of telling stories.

I have lived in many different cities and countries and this has given me an appreciation for what makes different people unique. It also let me develop my language skills. As well as natively speaking English & Arabic, I also speak French & Italian and am currently learning Dutch. This has also given me a knack for accents.

On top of my creative professional practice as an Actor, I love clowning, folk singing, dance and spoken word. I am currently teaching myself to play the accordion.

I studied English Literature & worked briefly as a journalist before training at the Oxford School of Drama in the UK.

MENA Arts UK

It all begins with an idea. In the year of our lockdown, Ramzi & director Kerry Kyriacos Michael founded MENA Arts UK - an arts organisation celebrating the work of Middle Eastern & North African creatives & artists and supporting them to thrive. In December 2020, MENA Arts UK launched a database of MENA talent across the UK live & recorded arts and was featured in the 2021 ‘Stage 100’.
